How we carry ourselves reflects both the external and internal states of being. Position and Disposition can be installed in many ways, vertically, horizontally or somewhere in between as it is here. Each posture and position offer a different lens through which to engage with the work, shifting the conversation between the materials, the body and the environment. As it slides from one plane to another it transitions from being a quilt that covers the body to becoming a body itself. Visual references to skin, hair, blood, and underwear emerge, evoking both intimacy and legacy. The work speaks to unknown ancestral stories passed through generations — stories that may resurface through behavior, illness, or instinct. Craft and nature here become both a healing balm and a connective thread through time.
